Agave Bandido to Bring Fresh Mexican-Inspired Cuisine and Cocktails to Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch

LAKEWOOD RANCH, FLA. (FEB. 17, 2022) – Mexican-inspired restaurant and tequileria Agave Bandido is the latest restaurant to join the offerings at Waterside Place, with a planned opening in late 2022.

The 4,000 square-foot restaurant will feature a beautiful indoor bar as its focal point, offering more than 250 tequilas and mezcals. The 2,000 square feet of patio space boasts a separate outdoor bar with a picturesque backdrop of the lake.

Conceptualized by Wolverine Management President Mathew Baum and Chief Operating Officer Matt Faul, Agave Bandido will bring a vibrant, city-inspired dining atmosphere to Lakewood Ranch. The duo says most of their personal decision-making inspired the aesthetics of Agave Bandido. Everything from the way food is served to the bar layout is determined based upon what they would prefer as consumers.

“Our focus has always been to grow in highly sought-after suburban areas, which may have minimal hip locations for dining and nightlife,” says Baum. “People want to have an exciting dining experience without driving half an hour into the city. Agave Bandido’s cuisine and atmosphere will offer those lively downtown elements conveniently close to home.”

Recently named the “Best Lifestyle Program in the U.S” by the National Association of Homebuilders, Waterside Place’s vibrant lifestyle and suburban Lakewood Ranch location was the logical location for its second restaurant.

Adds Faul, “What excited us most about Lakewood Ranch is its strong sense of community and emphasis on events and lifestyle, which is what we’re all about. Waterside Place is the perfect location for our fun, energetic brand.”

Agave Bandido at Waterside Place will offer patrons handmade cocktails and a full menu of dishes made in-house daily with fresh ingredients. The restaurant will feature many of the same design aesthetics as its flagship location in Pembroke Pines, Fla., including eye-catching murals and décor.

“Our mantra, when it comes to leasing restauranteurs at Waterside Place, is to look for only best-in-class,” said Kirk Boylston, president of Lakewood Ranch Commercial. “The goal is to transform Waterside Place into a regional foodie destination where residents and visitors can enjoy a diverse array of culinary experiences. We’re thrilled to welcome Agave Bandido’s Mexican-inspired cuisine and know the restaurant will be an exciting addition to the Lakewood Ranch lifestyle.”

Waterside Place serves as the heart of Waterside – Lakewood Ranch’s first Sarasota village – and offers an elevated community experience that extends beyond that of a traditional town center. Situated on a 36-acre peninsula overlooking the mile-long Kingfisher Lake, the development blends arts and entertainment destinations with 115,000 square feet of unique in-line and freestanding commercial, retail and office space; diverse dining options; an eight-acre island park; miles of nature trails; communal “pop-up” spaces, a water splash park, and more.

Waterside Village will feature more than 5,000 for-sale and rental homes in a variety of neighborhoods ranging from $280k to over $2M. All neighborhoods are connected to Waterside Place via trails and many homes will benefit from water taxis to the town center.

Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch welcomes first brewpub

Restaurant News: Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch welcomes first brewpub

The brewpub also has a sister location that opened four years ago in Bradenton.

Good Liquid Brewing Co. has opened at Waterside Place, Lakewood Ranch’s first village in Sarasota County.

The brewpub also has a sister location, which opened four years ago, in Bradenton’s Fountain Plaza on 14th Street West. Joe Guli, a chef who once worked with Wolfgang Puck and is currently CEO of the Sarasota-based Tableseide Restaurant Group (Libby’s, Circo), partnered with Mike and Sandra Krail, co-owners of the original Bradenton Good Liquid Brewing Co., in the new venture.

The Waterside Place location has seating for 175 inside and out on a large patio. The brewpub’s philosophy is “life is too short to drink bad liquid” and the brewery’s success is achieved by following a core brewing process while adding creative ingredients, according to a press notice.

Among the many beers offered are the Mixed Berry Jalapeno Cream Ale, The Fruity Bits Milkshake IPA and the Coconut Key Lime Sour. Brewmaster Mike Krail and his team of brew tenders also make cocktails from a wine and spirits assortment. The lake-front pub’s food menu includes black and blue sliders, avocado egg rolls, cast-iron meatballs, smoked ribs, beer can nachos and full entrees.

Good Liquid Brewing Co., at 1570 Lakefront Drive, Lakewood Ranch, is currently open from 4 to 9 p.m. with plans for adding lunch hours. For more information, call 941-253-0423 or visit goodliquidbrewingcompany.com.

LAKEWOOD RANCH REMAINS THE BEST-SELLING ALL-AGES COMMUNITY IN THE NATION

LAKEWOOD RANCH REMAINS THE BEST-SELLING ALL-AGES COMMUNITY IN THE NATION

Lakewood Ranch had another record-setting sales year, bolstered by the opening of new villages, its third town center, expanded restaurant and retail offerings, and plans for new schools and a public library.

The Ranch saw 2,574 new home sales in 2021, up from 2,149 in 2020 – a 20 percent increase year-over-year and the best sales year on record. Lakewood Ranch was recognized as the best-selling, master-planned multi-generational community in the country for the fourth year in a row by RCLCO and John Burns, two independent real estate consulting firms.

Much excitement centered on Waterside Place, which is on its way to becoming one of the area’s most popular dining, retail, and experiential destinations. Lakewood Ranch’s newest town center opened for business in November, featuring not only shops and restaurants but becoming the new home of The Farmers’ Market and Ranch Nite Wednesdays, perennial favorites of the community for more than four years.

Waterside Place is the centerpiece of Waterside Village, located in the Sarasota County portion of The Ranch. Waterside currently offers single family homes in LakeHouse Cove and Shoreview as well as rental townhomes, apartments, and senior living options in a variety of waterfront neighborhoods.  Demand has been extremely brisk for Waterside and builders will be introducing townhomes, cottages, single family rentals, and large custom homes in the next phase of development.

Sales were robust throughout the more than 20 actively-selling villages in Lakewood Ranch – including newly opened Esplanade and Park East at Azario, Lorraine Lakes, Sapphire Point, and Solera – with the range of housing types and pricing addressing the growing demand. New models also opened in LakeHouse Cove, Savanna, and The Lake Club. Star Farms and Sweetwater both broke ground in 2021, with models opening in 2022. Furthering the multi-generational culture, more senior and assisted living options are being explored, to serve the growing needs of families who move to Lakewood Ranch with their aging parents.

“Lakewood Ranch was in a strong position to capitalize on migration trends boosted by the pandemic,” said Laura Cole, senior vice president of LWR Communities, LLC., the residential arm of Lakewood Ranch. “Our housing diversity, multi-generational appeal, and expanded amenities drew buyers from high tax markets across the U.S., buyers with accelerated retirement plans, and buyers untethered to their jobs.”  “We have not seen a slowdown in prospect activity in recent months,” Cole continued, “however buyers are gaining acceptance of the longer lead and build times for new homes as well as price increases, all induced by the pandemic’s labor and supply woes.” The average price of a new home in Lakewood Ranch in 2021 was $609k, 19% above 2020’s average price. Base pricing for new homes on www.LakewoodRanch.com starts at $263k and goes well above $2 million.

Activity in the multi-family housing market has surged as well, with new apartment offerings at The Summerhouse and Botanic, and Artesia, a single-family rental development, with much more to come. Leading the nation in the build-to-rent space, The Ranch has seven single family rental projects in various stages of leasing and development, segmented to meet a broad spectrum of the market, from workforce to luxury.

The Ranch’s growing population has driven expanded educational offerings. Additions to the existing Lakewood Ranch High School and R. Dan Nolan Middle School are planned, and a new K-8 school is scheduled to be finished by 2024. The Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy, a new K-12 charter school, projects a lower school opening in the fall of 2022, with construction of the high school to start in 2023.

The County, recognizing the population shift, broke ground in Lakewood Ranch for the newest library in the Manatee County system in December, and plans were announced for expanding the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch, including a new aquatic center.

Lakewood Ranch’s award-winning lifestyle program also expanded, including large community events, more community groups and clubs, virtual programming, and the addition of a dynamic parks and recreation program.

Lakewood Ranch’s commercial landscape grew by leaps and bounds as well, with numerous new restaurants, retail stores, and office space opening or breaking ground, including both local and national names.

Lakewood Ranch to Expand Offerings With Three New Waterside Place Tenants

Lakewood Ranch to Expand Offerings With Three New Waterside Place Tenants
New Concept Bella Vita Italian restaurant, Bay Area Aesthetics to Open First Lakewood Ranch Locations; and Lakewood Ranch Medical Group to Debut New Primary Care Facility

Lakewood Ranch, the nation’s best-selling master-planned community in the U.S., has announced three additional tenants that will open in the community’s new, 36-acre Waterside Place development, which is on track to become the region’s premier experiential lifestyle destination.

Set to open this fall, Waterside Place will embody the essence of Lakewood Ranch, serving as a retail, dining, wellness and entertainment hub with waterfront charm. Whether guests are looking to enjoy a morning coffee and jog along the nature trails or opt for an evening lakeside concert followed by dinner and craft beers with friends, Waterside Place will appeal to a variety of lifestyles and interests.

Upon opening, Waterside Place will serve as the heart of Waterside – Lakewood Ranch’s first Sarasota village – and offer an elevated community experience that extends beyond that of a traditional town center. Situated on a 36-acre peninsula overlooking the mile-long Kingfisher Lake, the development will blend arts and entertainment destinations with 115,000 square feet of unique in-line and freestanding commercial, retail and office space; diverse dining options; an eight-acre park; miles of nature trails; communal “pop-up” spaces, a water splash park, and more.

The town center will be further activated with festivals, music, and sporting activities, and will be the future home for the Farmers’ Market at LWR, further connecting local farmers and artisans with area residents and their guests. Additionally, Lakewood Ranch will work with Waterside Place tenants to create custom programming tailored to their consumers.

Bella Vita, Bay Area Aesthetics and the new Lakewood Ranch Medical Group primary care facility are set to join previously announced tenants: Good Liquid Brewing Co., 3 Form Fitness, ManCave for Men, O&A Coffee Supply, CROP Juice, Duck Donuts, Korê, PAINT Nail Bar, SmithLaw, The Yoga Shack and Kilwins.

Bella Vita – meaning “the good life” – will be an authentic Italian restaurant created by restauranteur and Italian native Giuseppe “Peppe” del Sol of Napule restaurant in Sarasota. This new “cucina napolitana” will offer Lakewood Ranch residents and visitors delicious Italian cuisine in a welcoming environment inspired by Peppe’s hometown island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples, Italy.

Bay Area Aesthetics is a locally-owned medical spa led by Amy M. Lauvray Hurlebaus, a nationally board certified advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). With over 25 years of experience, Amy aims to help patients look and feel their best at every life stage. Her services include skincare and rejuvenation, BOTOX ® and injectables, signature treatments with medical-grade skincare products and more. This will be Bay Area Aesthetics’ first location in Lakewood Ranch.

Additionally, Lakewood Ranch Medical Group will open a primary care facility at Waterside Place this fall, following the trend of neighborhood-based healthcare. The new, 7,000 square-foot clinic will offer Lakewood Ranch residents a spacious, convenient and centralized location for primary care visits.

Andy Guz, CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, anticipates the facility will initially staff two physicians who can accommodate up to 60 patients per day. Guz expects to add additional doctors as the new clinic begins to attract more Lakewood Ranch residents with its health and wellness activations and pop-ups – a strong pillar of the community’s lifestyle.

“Our mantra, when it comes to leasing at Waterside Place, is to look for only best-in-class restauranteurs, retailers and shops, which has been a successful focus as shown by the quality of our current tenant list,” said Kirk Boylston, president of Lakewood Ranch Commercial. “Without exception, these tenants are among the best in the region and will provide an unmatched user experience at Waterside Place. We clearly have narrowed the pool of candidate tenants, but the level of quality in the design, construction and programming at Waterside Place has allowed us to be successful as we continue to lease up the project.”

Other future amenities include the beloved Players Centre for Performing Arts, which is relocating from Sarasota to an expanded, 70,000 square foot performing arts center at Waterside Place.

Waterside will feature more than 5,000 for-sale and rental homes in a variety of neighborhoods ranging from $280k to over $2M. All neighborhoods are connected to Waterside Place via trails and many homes will benefit from water taxis to the town center. To date, over 1,300 homes have been sold or leased in Waterside’s Shoreview, Lakehouse Cove, The Adley, Botanic, and Grande Living neighborhoods.

Founded in 1994, Lakewood Ranch spans over 20 villages and is consistently rated as one of the best-selling master-planned communities in the country by both RCLCO and John Burns Real Estate Consulting, two independent real estate consulting firms. In July of 2021, Lakewood Ranch was named the best-selling, master-planned community in the country according to RCLCO’s mid-year rankings. In January, both firms designated Lakewood Ranch as the best-selling master-planned community in the U.S. for the second year in a row.
