Each donated volume features a bookplate that honors Myron F. Robinson, a lifelong library supporter and a key advocate for bringing a library to East Manatee County. Lakewood Ranch Library branch manager Tiffany Mautino curated the collection, which includes African American fiction and non-fiction books focused on culture, pertinent issues, and related topics. The collection features prominent African American authors across genres, and includes children’s literature, large print, and multicultural/bilingual editions.
The Aug. 14 dedication ceremony is open to the public. It aims to celebrate the donation and highlight the importance of supporting local libraries.
